Among the monitors currently available on the market, the Actarus patented process is the only one capable of measering the temperature at the heart of the cutting process : on average and depending on the adopted configurations, the measurement point is a few hundred millimeters directly beneath the cutting edge, at the tool piece and/or tool chip interface.

In addition, arrangements can be applied to the tools during during the manufacturing process to guarantee the mechanical properties of the tools are identical to those of the standard tools under investigation. Using this method, a wide range of cuttingtips can be equipped throughout the range of grades available from the tool manufacturers.
